|Scope & Content||This collection consists of love letters between William S. Diehl and Mary M. Stratton, from June 10, 1879, to July 5, 1880. Some of the locations listed in the letters include Bennett, Lincoln and North Platte, Nebraska. William Diehl lived in York County, Nebraska. Mary and William were engaged during this time period, so many of the letters discuss future plans as well as daily happenings. Some letters contain minor arguments over attending the State Fair and a State Horticultural Society meeting. Contents of the last letter suggest that Mary broke off her engagement to William.|
