Scope & Content This collection consists of one letter (in German) written by August Hasse to "Friend Mayer," dating from January 26, 1894. The letter was written by Hasse while on a trip to Skidmore, Texas. In the letter he describes the farming practices in Texas, primarily cotton-growing and cattle-raising, and compares the farming practices to those in Nebraska. The original letter is in German, but an English typescript is also available.
