This collection contains correspondence, 1889-1941, primarily to Leonard Colby. Letters seek favors, employment, and letters of reference. There is also material on Colby's life, particularly his years in the military and as a Nebraska State Senator. A story about Colby purchasing a horse from U.S. Grant is included.

Program for the funeral of Ulysses S. Grant. The front has a drawing of Grant (head and bust) surrounded by olive branches, and the words, "In Memorium Requiescat in pace". The inside details that his remains will arrive in Albany on Tuesday August 4, 1882. There will then be a march from City Hall to his internment at Riverside Park. The order of the march is also detailed, from mounted police to specific officials. The program is on tan paper with dark brown print.

Full head mask depicting Ulysses S. Grant. The face has dark hair and a full beard. The eyes are cut out of the mask in order to allow the wearer to see. There are two small puncture holes in each ear and the nostrils are cut out. On the reverse is a flap of black fabric with a metal zipper through the center to secure the mask over the head. There is a square hole in the tip of the beard, probably for a thumb. Inscribed in black marker inside the mask is "Kari Hunt."

Mosaic quilt consisting of pieced silk hexagons. A larger hexagon pattern is formed from a central hexagon piece, bordered by six hexagon pieces, surrounded by twelve hexagon pieces. There is a central hexagon, all in white silk, that has signatures in ink, including that of U.S. Grant. Silk satin fabrics include solids, plaids, stripes, and florals. The cental medallion is red, white and blue. Small pieces of fabric are stitched to hexagon paper pieces. There are small fragments of newspaper visible under some of the areas. The tan wool twill backing has hand quilting in a hanging diamond pattern at 7 to 9 stitches per inch. The backing is turned to the front to form the binding. The backing
