The collection consists of records of the Nebraska Democratic Party, ca. 1932-1984. Most of the material relates to the 1970s. Included are newsletters, reports, committee minutes and campaign literature relating to the Democratic Party and its activities in Nebraska.

This collection consists of four boxes of political memorabilia mostly relating to the Republican and Democratic National Conventions in 1968 and 1972. The collection is divided into five series: 1) The Republicans, 1968; 2) The Democrats, 1968; 3) The Republicans, 1972; 4) The Democrats, 1972; and 5) Non-Convention Materials, 1970-1974. Several oversized items are listed at the end of this inventory. Of special interest is the "Welcome Nixon" poster. This is an example of a poster that Omaha school children were encouraged to make for Richard Nixon's visit to Omaha in the fall of 1970. Many of these posters were taken by anti-Nixon protesters. This collection relates to the activities of the Nebraska Democratic Party, the state affiliate of the National Democratic Party. Many of the materials relate specifically to the U.S. Senate campaigns of Hess Dyas of Lincoln, Nebraska, in the 1970s. This collection consists of approximately fifty-five images documenting the people, places, and events of the Nebraska Democratic Party. Most of the photographs date from the 1970s. There are some photographs depicting activities from the 1940s-1960s.
