This collection relates to Eli Ricker's research on conflict between Native Americans and pioneers and the U.S. military during the settlement of the American West.
This collection consists of photographic prints and negatives dating from the 1850s to the early 1900s. Many of the images are of Native Americans, including the Apache, Cheyenne, Crow, Ute, and Siouan people. The collection also includes images of a Hopi village and the Pine Ridge Reservation.
