Name Raymond, Isaac Miller Jr.
Relationships Father was Isaac M. Raymond Sr., after whom in 1880, the town of "Raymond" was named for. He is listed in several historical accounts as the "senior member of Raymond Brothers & Clark, wholesale grocers of Lincoln." Further research revealed that Raymond was also a stockholder and officer in the Nebraska State Bank, and the vice-president of the Lincoln & Fremont Railroad Company -- a primary "project promoter."

8464-9-(1-2) - Gloves; Leather; Pair; Gauntlets; Quill; Geometric

One pair of leather gloves with gauntlet style cuffs. Cuffs are covered with quillwork and glass beads. The quillwork is red, green, purple and yellow and is applied in rows, in a geometric triangle design that is typical of the Great Plains. The quillwork is bordered with beadwork. The beadwork is white, bands of green and dark blue beads decorating it. The outer edge of the glove is trimmed with leather fringe. Beads are attached to the leather with sinew and lazy stitch. The top part of the gloves appear to be commercially made, but the gauntlet part looks like it has been added by the person who did the quillwork and beading.
