This collection contains the diaries of Nellie W. Cole, dating from 1946-1949, 1952-1953, as well as several notebooks containing household accounts and misc. ephemera. Also included are the minutes and secretary's reports, 1932-1944, of the Altar Guild of Christ Episcopal Church, Beatrice, Nebraska. Nellie W. Cole's sister, Callie B. Cole, compiled the Altar Guild data while secretary of that organization.

The collection contains newspaper clippings from the Beatrice Express (Beatrice, Nebraska), dating from 1874, along with two handwritten drafts of articles that were published in the newspaper. These items describe the beginnings of the temperance movement in Beatrice and the activities of the Ladies of Temperance Association of Beatrice. Also included in the collection is a letter from Julia Fuller of Beatrice, Nebraska, dated January 12, 1913, in which she reminisces about the blizzard of 1888.

The collection consists of a scrapbook, several folders of misc. loose items removed from the scrapbook, and a 1928 Lincoln High School yearbook. The materials document Donald Abbott's early education and musical career, mostly dating from 1925-1930. The scrapbook and folders of loose items contain various event programs, newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence, etc. One item of particular note is a photograph of Donald Abbott ca. 1925 with two other students from the Beatrice school band. One of the other students in the photo is Spangler Arlington Brugh, who would become known as the film star Robert Taylor. The photo is located on page 14 of the scrapbook. In the folder of l
