This collection [formerly MS0042 and MS0996] consists of papers relating to the Sage and Fellows Families of Auburn and Plattsmouth, Nebraska. The collection includes correspondence between family members, biographical and genealogical information, and programs from the Mental Culture Club of Auburn, Neb. and other area organizations. The majority of the collection consists of correspondence discussing family news and local events from the 1860s to the 1910s.

The collection consists of a reminiscence written by Robert Hitchman of his childhood and teen years in Weeping Water, Cass County, Nebraska, during the 1920s. He discusses numerous topics including family, childhood pranks, playing high school football, other high school extracurricular activities, winter sports, politics, weather, threshing, and working for the railroad as a teen.

This collection consists of one oversized folder containing ten drawings. The drawings are of buildings and structures built by the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad in Nebraska. The drawings in this series are copies taken from the original vellum or linen produced by the railroad.

This collection includes photographs from the community of Louisville, Cass County, Nebraska. This collection consists of photographic prints, 1908-1930. The photographs show street scenes, churches, a bridge over the Platte River, and local businesses, such as a cement company, stone quarry, and sandpit. One photograph shows soldiers from Fort Riley riding horses over the narrow bridge spanning the Platte.

This collection consists of photographs related to the Resettlement Administration in Nebraska and to agriculture during the Great Depression. This collection consists of photographic prints, 1930s. The photographs relate to the Resettlement Administration in Nebraska and show farms and farm families from locations throughout the state. Photographs of dust storms and drifts of dust are also included.

93 photographs; Frank Henton Johnson served in Company M of the First Nebraska Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish-American War and the subsequent Philippine Insurrection. This collection is related to his military service and to his hometown, Plattsmouth, Nebraska. This collection consists of photographic prints from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Views of Omaha, Lincoln, and Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and portraits of men and women are included. Of particular interest are images of a 1907 flood in Plattsmouth.

6 photographs; Samuel M. Chapman was a lawyer in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and an active member of the Republican Party, who served in Nebraska's Senate in 1875 and 1877. This collection relates to his legal work, political activities, and military service during the Civil War. This collection consists of photographic prints, 1860s-1900. Included are four carte de visites of Civil War soldiers, an art reproduction, and a photograph of a man in Native American costume.

The Burden family owned and operated a general store in Red Cloud, Nebraska, from 1896-1952. This collection documents the general store and other property and activities of the Burden family. This collection consists of twenty-nine photographic prints comprised of Burden family photos, as well as images documenting interiors and exteriors of the Burden family general store, 1914; the flash flood on the Republican River, 1935, south of Red Cloud, Nebraska; electronic equipment, ca.1935; and ice cutting near Gothenburg, Nebraska, 1908.

Approximately 400 photographs; George Harrison Gilmore was a physician, amateur archaeologist, and historian from Murray, Nebraska. This collection relates to his interest in history and archaeology and to his family. This collection consists of photographic prints and negatives, many of which are undated, but includes images from the late 1800s-1950s. The collection holds numerous images of buildings, including farmsteads, log cabins, and historic structures. Also included are photographs of George Harrison Gilmore, his friends, and members of his family. A few close-up photographs of various plants provide clear images of foliage and are labeled with their scientific names.

Approximately 34 photographs; J.M. Kokjer was a Congregational minister who lived in Merrick and Cass Counties, Nebraska. This collection relates to his ministerial studies and activities, his finances, and various to communities in central and eastern Nebraska. This collection consists of photographic prints, 1920 and undated. Most of the photographs show buildings and parks in Nebraska communities, particularly Lincoln, Nebraska. A few of the photographs show scenes from David City and Omaha, Nebraska.

Eagle, Nebraska, was established in 1887. This collection consists of photographs showing the town's main street, public buildings, and businesses. Several of the photographs show people at a local automobile repair garage. This collection consists of thirteen photographic prints of buildings, such as the public school, the German church and private residences in Eagle, Nebraska. There are several photographs of Lanning's Garage showing parked vehicles and many men gathered around and on the cars. Also included are photographs of a threshing machine of a horse-drawn carriage parked on a muddy dirt street and of the Eagle Cornet Band.

Approximately 140 photographs; This collection consists of photographs showing the Balfour family, including images of the family farm, recreational activities, and family portraits. This collection consists of photographic prints, negatives, and glass plate negatives, ca.1890-1964, mostly ca.1910. The photographs include family portraits, and hunting, baseball, and school scenes. Celebrations, such as weddings, proms, and holiday parties are pictured as well. The glass plate negatives provide images of the family farm, cattle, and family friends, ca.1910.
