George Metcalf, originally from Wauneta, Nebraska, was curator of the archaeology lab at the United States National Museum. This collection consists of photographs of the Metcalf family homestead. This collection consists of four photographic prints showing the Metcalf family sod houses, 1904 and 1906, in Chase County, near Wauneta, Nebraska, and Hayes County, Nebraska. Photographs show family members, animals, outbuildings, and a windmill. Also included is a group photo, 1970, of George Metcalf receiving an honorary doctorate from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Approximately 10 photographs; The Kilpatrick brothers were businessmen involved in ranching and contract construction work for railroads and other development companies. This collection relates to the businesses they operated. This collection consists of negatives and photographic prints related to the Kilpatrick brothers' businesses. Of particular interest are photographs showing railroad grading and construction work. A photograph of the Kilpatrick brothers and one of their ranches near Silver Creek, Idaho, is also included.
