This collection is arranged in six series: 1) Lester W. Platt, 1843-1848; 2) Elvira Gaston Platt, 1853-1914 and undated; 3) Elizabeth Ricketts Whaley Lehman, 1857-1876 and undated; 4) Samuel Platt Ricketts, 1858-1862; 5) George H. Whaley, 1891 and 1955-1962; and 6) Miscellany. This material relates primarily to the missionary and teaching work of members of the Platt, Gaston, and Ricketts families. Also included is information about the Lehman Family, and settlement in and around Tabor, Iowa, just north of Nebraska City, Nebraska. The Lester W. Platt materials of Series One, 1843-1848, consist of copies of documents nominating him as School Teacher and Assistant Agriculturalist for the Paw

This collection consists of images of towns and rural settings in Platte County, Nebraska. This collection consists of photographic prints, 1856-1968; mostly 1880s-1910s. Included are photographs of street scenes, parks, and buildings, such as schools, churches, hospitals, homes, and businesses.

This collection consists of photographs showing scenes from various small towns in Nebraska. Thirty-four photographic prints and postcards showing main streets, schoolhouses, depots, a saloon, street activity, a lawn party, and a parade in several small towns of Nebraska. Most of these photographs are from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Approximately 29 photographs; This collection relates to the Brugger family of Columbus, Nebraska, and, to a smaller extent, to the history of Columbus. Significant materials describe the life and social work career of Florence Brugger. This collection consists of photographic prints, ca.1910s, 1930s, and 1960s. Most of the photographs show the exteriors of Stenger and Brugger family homes in and near Columbus, Nebraska. Of particular note are photographs of the Melchoir Brugger home, which show changes made to the home over time. A few photographs of family members and a photograph of a suffrage parade in Columbus are also included.
