This collection is comprised of the reminiscences and stories of Alex Charbonneau, a purported descendant of Toussaint Charbonneau and Sacagawea. Dated August 14, 1933, the volume covers the time period of 1870s-1890s. Some of what is written is from firsthand knowledge, but a lot seems to come from secondhand information. He tells of his time as a stagecoach driver at Fort Pierre, South Dakota, 1881 or 1882, and other jobs he had. This collection consists of 3 boxes of manuscript material arranged in five series: (1) Research Material, 1928-1934 (themes and manuscripts by students of Professor Wilson); (2) Correspondence, 1932-1944; (3) Addresses; (4) Pine Ridge Historical Association, 1938; and (5) Miscellany. The bulk of this collection relates to research projects done by students in Everett P. Wilson's history class at Chadron State Teachers College, Chadron, Nebraska. Much of the material relates to Western Nebraska history. It includes information on the counties and cities of Nebraska, ranches, the cattle industry, and a large amount of pioneer reminiscences.

Approximately 30 photographs; Susan Bordeaux Bettelyoun was the daughter of a fur trader and a Brule Lakota woman. This collection relates to the experiences of Native Americans in the second half of the nineteenth century and to Bordeaux family history. This collection consists of photographic prints and negatives; ca.1890-1930s, with an emphasis on images from ca.1890 and the latter half of the 1930s. Most of the photographs are of Native Americans. Photographs of Susan Bordeaux Bettelyoun are also included.
