Inaugural Gown, Darlene Brooks, Gov. Ralph G. Brooks. Skirt of dress is made of palmetto green silk chiffon over rayon crepe. Bodice has portrait neckline and drop cap sleeves. The fitted bodice is encrusted with irridescent sequins and sprinkled with rhinestones and tiny pearls.

The deep red silk taffeta (much of which has faded to orange) two-piece dress is trimmed in black velvet (which has faded to green), purple silk and deep red embroidery and tassels. The bodice is fitted and lined in cotton cambric. Boning in the front adds shape. The long, set-in full length sleeves have ruched red silk along the center of the outer arm, held in place with two rows of purple silk welting. The black velvet cuff has two rows of purple silk welting attached to it and a purple silk ruffle protruding from the upper edge. The front of the bodice has two velvet panels that extend past the rest of the bodice to form a 'v' at the center front. This velvet is trimmed with two row

Dress, slip, bolero jacket, belt and wrap style skirt petticoat. Dress and bolero made of peach, machine made chantilly lace. Slip is made of peach silk. Wrap style petticoat is made of pink silk and possibly does not belong with the rest of the ensemble. Belt is pot metal, inset with round glass jewels. Dress has plunging back neckline. Jacket is long sleeved, with attached belt with button and loop closure. Slip has mesh shoulder straps and is full length.

Orange crepe full length higher waisted dress with ruched bodice and brooch. Bodice has a V neckline and ruching down center front, under the bustline, around the armscyes, down the short sleeves, and across the back waistline. At point of neckline is a brooch with a resin rose surrounded by two halos of glass or plastic round stones. Closure is a zipper under left arm. Skirt is bias cut crepe panels, creating a very full hemline. Silk underdress has no closure. COLORS: orange TECHNIQUE: machine sewn

Gown made of heavy pink satin with bonded lining to hold shape. Gown is fitted with a deep decolete and narrow rolled shoulder straps. Wide flared floor ballroom length skirt. Beginning at lower edge of skirt, design of gold braid and iridescent sequins runs upward like long stems with leaves across front of gown. The "stems" end in silk velvet carnations. Tag in dress, "Emma Domb, California."

Dress made of cream colored dupioni silk and heavily beaded with silver bugle and seed beads, sequins and plastic aurora borealis beads. Bead design formed with clusters of larger beads forming medallions and lined with scalloped vines of bugle beads. Beading is heavy on neck and shoulders. Low, round neckline, sleeveless, shoulder straps. White China silk lining. Dress is full length, with slits up the side and closes with a metal zipper in the back. Tag indicates was made in "British Crown Colony of Hong Kong."

Dress made of celadon green silk charmeuse under lace w/beaded and embroidered design. Sleeveless dress with low round neck line. Skirt draped at hip line, held with crystal ball trim. Heavy silk lace over bodice with loose hanging panel in front and back. Embroidered silk design in heavy thread, with crystal bead outline and pattern on borders. Large pearl beads at centers of border design. Fowers and leaves worked out in 14" wide white woven silk braid. Others in heavy silk thread, have crystal bead outline and centery stem. Bodice has net lining, hooks in back.

Full skirt is topped by a fitted bodice and finishes with a low sweetheart decolletage edged in net. Pleated net is draped over one side of the bustline. Cap sleeves. Floor length. "Neusteters" tag sewn into back of neckline.
