This collection consists of one oversized folder containing ten drawings. The drawings are of buildings and structures built by the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad in Nebraska. The drawings in this series are copies taken from the original vellum or linen produced by the railroad.

Leila Ball Hallock was a resident of Lincoln, Nebraska, a writer, and a member of the Federal Writers' Project during the 1930s. This collection contains correspondence and photographs of various Nebraska locations collected by Hallock. This collection consists of photographic prints, 1906-1918 and undated; mostly 1910s. The photographs include postcards from various communities in Nebraska. Events shown are a fire in Ord, Nebraska; a recruitment booth for Cotner College in Bethany; and a program in an open-air auditorium. Among the community views are school buildings, auditoriums, and street scenes.

Webster County were defined by an act approved February 16, 1867. The photographs in this collection show the buildings, main streets, and activities of the citizens in towns located in Webster County. This collection consists of photographic prints and postcards that show many of the small towns in Webster County around the turn of the twentieth century and into the mid-1900s. Many of the photos are of the county seat, Red Cloud. Included are photographs of main streets, commercial and public buildings, houses, citizens, and special events.

Willa Cather moved with her family to Red Cloud, Nebraska, in 1884. Cather studied literature and began writing short stories while attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Cather also worked for newspapers and magazines in New York until she began writing fiction full time. This collection contains a variety of material acquired from many sources. This collection consists of approximately 100 photographic prints. Included are portraits of Cather as a young girl, Cather family photographs, and a Pavelka family portrait, ca. late 1800s. This collection documents in photographs the Willa Cather Historic Site before it was renovated and the family of Willa Cather. This collection consists of twenty-four photographic prints documenting the interior of the Willa Cather Memorial Site before renovation, when it was the Silas Garber Bank in Red Cloud, Nebraska. Exteriors of the bank are also shown, as well as structures related to the project. Also included are ambrotypes and daguerreotypes of the Cather family.

This collection consists of photographs depicting major winter storms in Nebraska. Many of the photos show the aftermath of the blizzard of 1949. Included are images of the devastation to livestock and the equipment used to dig out of the snow. This collection consists of photographic prints of houses, farms, and roads under many feet of snow. Photographs show bulldozers and trains with large blades attempting to clear transportation routes, farmers digging cattle out of drifts, frozen livestock in a field, and people standing by snow drifts twenty feet high. The Burden family owned and operated a general store in Red Cloud, Nebraska, from 1896-1952. This collection documents the general store and other property and activities of the Burden family. This collection consists of twenty-nine photographic prints comprised of Burden family photos, as well as images documenting interiors and exteriors of the Burden family general store, 1914; the flash flood on the Republican River, 1935, south of Red Cloud, Nebraska; electronic equipment, ca.1935; and ice cutting near Gothenburg, Nebraska, 1908.

Approximately 59 photographs; This collection relates to the career and life of professional baseball player Clarence E. Mitchell of Franklin, Franklin County, Nebraska. This collection consists of copied photographic prints, ca.1900-1963 and undated, mostly 1910s-1940s. Most of the images relate to Clarence E. Mitchell's baseball career, including individual and team photographs. A few family photos and photos of Mitchell during his service in World War I are also included.
