This collection consists of one item, the Club Laws from 1854-1855. The Club Laws were devised by the Bellevue Settlers Club in order to systematize the registration of land claims in the Bellevue area. The laws detail requirements and restrictions set by the club.

The collection contains a four-page letter written by Frances Cabanne Saportas of Long Beach, California, January 16, 1934, to A.E. Sheldon. She writes about Jean Pierre Cabanne, her great-grandfather, and provides information on the American Fur Company and its founders, on the extended Cabanne family, and on Cabanne's post in Nebraska. Cabanne's fur trade connections in St. Louis and with the Sarpy family are described. Also included is typed transcription of a notice of the dissolution of Cabanne and Company in 1819.

The collection contains three letters and several articles by Robert F. Gilder. Gilder wrote two of the letters to A.E. Sheldon of the Nebraska State Historical Society to discuss their archaeological research. A third letter, dated January 19, 1922, is to Eolia Marquardt of Avoca, Nebraska, in which Gilder gives an account of his scientific discoveries and research. The collection also contains several reprints of articles concerning Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota archaeology. Photocopies of Gilder's "The Nebraska Culture Man" are included.
