The collection consists of a letter, dated March 23, 1870, from Schuyler Colfax, U.S. Vice President under U.S. Grant. The letter is written to W.B. Lamphere and Jessie M. Sutherland, committee members of the Schuyler, Nebraska, Library and Literary Association. In the letter, Colfax accepts an offer of honorary membership in the society. He also indicates what an honor it was to have a county and a city named for him by the Nebraska Legislature. Also included is the envelope in which the letter was sent.

Approximately 45 photographs; This collection relates to Marie Rezac's family and includes images related to agriculture and the railroad near Edholm, Nebraska. This collection consists of photographic prints, ca.1909-1920s and undated. The photographs relate to the Havel and Jahek families, agriculture, and the railroad at Edholm, Nebraska. Photographs show grain cutting and threshing in the early decades of the twentieth century. There are also photographs of the Edholm depot, an arriving train, railroad workers, and bridges. Images of automobiles, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, farm machinery, and grain elevators are also included.

This collection documents the towns and rural areas of Colfax County, Nebraska. This collection consists of photographic prints of bird's-eye and street level views of towns in Colfax County, Nebraska. Also includes photographs of commercial buildings, such as the Janecek Theater in Schuyler, Nebraska; a dry goods and grocery store in Howells, ca.1890; and buildings, including churches and schools, and a family farm, in Leigh, Nebraska, 1925.
