The collection contains miscellaneous ephemera divided into several groupings including information about Nebraska colleges (1908), particularly Columbus Commercial College and Wayne Normal School; information on William Jennings Bryan's presidential campaign of 1908, including a letter from Bryan Volunteers of Nebraska soliciting additional volunteers for the campaign; correspondence/advertisements for various businesses, in particular Henry Field Seed Company and its connection to radio station KFNF, Shenandoah, Iowa, and Berger's Department Store in Long Pine, Nebraska. This collection consists of a composition book containing minutes of meetings of the junior/senior class at the Nebraska State Normal School in Peru, Nebraska. The entries date from 1902-1904 and include names of students and their offices. Subjects discussed during the class meetings include class yells, motto, class flower, class pin/ring, class play, and whether or not to give the college a memorial. This composition book was originally kept by Mary S. Hurst, aunt of Charles W. Hurst, and Helen Lucile Walworth, mother of Charles W. Hurst, while they attended the Nebraska State Normal School.
