John Butler Workman arrived in Nebraska in 1872, homesteading on Indian Creek in York County, Nebraska. He farmed the land and also served as the postmaster of the Indian Creek Post Office. Workman later moved to Exeter, Nebraska. This collection contains one letter Workman wrote to his wife and children. Photographs in this collection include the Indian Creek post office building.
This collection consists of two photographic prints and one tintype. Shown is the Indian Creek post office, 1882; the Workman house in Exeter, Nebraska, 1886; and a tintype of a small child, 1871.
