Approximately 63 photographs; George Albert Gregory was a teacher and principal at Gates Academy in Neligh, Nebraska; superintendent of public schools in Crete, Nebraska; and inspector of state normal training in Nebraska. His daughter, Annadora Foss Gregory, was a professor of social studies at Chadron State College in Nebraska and wrote her doctoral dissertation on the history of Crete, Nebraska. This collection relates to the Gregorys' careers as educators; the history of Crete and Saline County; and community, school, and church activities.
This collection consists of photographic prints, 1881-1925 and undated. Among the images are Gregory family members and friends; the Gregory home in Crete, Nebraska; and a 1925 reunion of Gates College students and instructors in Crete, Nebraska. Also included is a photograph album presented to George Albert Gregory by the Band of Hope, 1881-1882, Crete, Nebraska. The album contains portraits, most of which are unidentified.
