Blueprints for a ship lay in front of him, but he is comparing two different cigarettes to a Naval Officer in a blue uniform and cap. Underneath the illustration is the text "Here's a basic improvement in cigarette design!" The illustration is signed by the artist, John Falter, on the lower right of the illustration. On the bottom half of the ad is ad copy. On the left edge of the ad is a carton of Pall Mall cigarettes. A diagram is printed on the bottom right of the ad for comparing cigarette length.
