Description White envelope addressed to "Hon H L Smith". The envelope is postmarked "MA[Y/R] 1884" (the envelope has actually been postmarked twice, on the second postmark only GENEVA and 17 are legible) and has two blue, one-cent Benjamin Franklin stamps. In the upper left-hand corner of the envelope is an image of an evergreen tree and "J. T. ALLAN, SECRETARY, OMAHA, NEB." Across the top of the envelope "Nebraska State Horticultural Society" is printed. The envelope is printed in green ink.
