Description Graphite on paper. Preliminary sketch for self-portrait John Falter did for Newsweek Magazine cover. The sketch is an outline of falter looking back over his shoulder and sitting in front of a canvas on an easel with a paint brush in his hand. Beyond him in the distance is a victorian style house. Falter has identified different parts of the proposed painting in his own handwriting--such as Sky, easle, canvass, Me, etc. "Dear Ken-Here is the exact size and comp of proposed self portrait for Newsweek. Regards JF" is written in the bottom margin. Ken is Ken Stuart, the art editor of the Saturday Evening Post.
