Description Color offset lithograph. Print of "The New Beginning," one of the 3M Company's Bicentennial paintings. Print of a painting of a religious gathering of African Americans underneath a tent amidst the rubble of houses. Under the tent the people are singing and dancing. In the foreground are the remains of a wheel, cannon, wheels, and rubble. On the left in the middle ground behind the tent, is a horse drawn wagon with two figures moving toward the left. Printed beneath the image is black text with the piece's title, and manufacturing credits. Written beneath the lower left corner is John Falter's signature in graphite. "(C)1975 3M Company // Litho. in U.S.A. with 3M brand Photo Offset Plates, Film and Chemicals" is printed on the bottom-middle.
