Description Graphite drawing on white tracing paper. Drawing of a Revolutionary War battle. In the background in a line of British soldiers, the center of which the soldiers are holding up three British flags. In the foreground are American soldiers in a line. Some are firing or loading. In both lines soldiers are falling/have fallen. Behind the American line, soldiers march, run away from the line, and stand in groups. On the left edge, a cannon has blown apart and soldier lie around it. Notations are made throughout in white crayon and in graphite. The drawing was drawn on two sheets of paper taped together in the center. The drawing is a rough sketch for the oil painting "Battle of Brandywine."
