Description This pair of earrings are for pierced ears. They have keystone shapes on oval rings with scroll and bead work, each set with seed pearls. They are hinged to trifoil pointed form with seed pearls and ear wires. There is black enameling on the keystone forms.

History These earrings were owned by Idalyn Hall (Gwyer) Yates. Idalyn was born on December 28, 1854 in Wilmington, North Carolina to William Augustus Gwyer and Sarah Ann Hall. Her family moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1857. Idalyn married Willis Murphy Yates, whose brother was Henry W. Yates, one of the founders of the banking business in Omaha beginning in 1856. They were married on July 2, 1878 in Omaha, Nebraska. Idalyn died on October 12, 1932 in Omaha.
