Description Color offset lithograph on white paper. Printing proof of the July 3, 1948 Saturday Evening Post Cover featuring the illustration Sand Trap by John Falter. The illustration depicts five men playing golf. One man is getting ready to hit his ball from a sand trap as four other men watch from the green. One man, the caddy, is holding onto the flag and the others are standing back holding putters. The surrounding area is green with a few trees along the edge of the course. A water hazard is in the distance, as well as trees and the next hole. On the lower left corner is the artist's signature. At the top of the cover is the title of the magazine, date, price, and a square with a white outline.
