Event Prohibition
History During one of her speaking tours in the 1900s, prohibitionist Carry Nation stopped briefly in Exeter to send a telegram. Nation gave this hatchet pin to railroad station agent E. S. Augr. Early in her career Nation used a hatchet to smash up saloons, so she adopted it as her symbol "to cut out the evil."
