Drawing of a Native American camp in the foreground--three teepees are erected on the bank of a river in the lower right foreground. Two figures are lighting a fire as another watches. Behind the figures a tethered horse is munching on grass to the left are three dogs barking at a boat carrying a team of horses and a wagon. Across the river are three steamboats, one named "Desmet", docked against the bank. In the background is a row of buildings at the base of a hill/cliff. Wagons, horses, and people are visible moving toward the right behind and beyond the steamboats.
