Description Color offset lithograph on white paper. May 19, 1945 Saturday Evening Post magazine featuring cover art by John Falter. The illustration, "Pershing Square," is a bird's-eye view of a busy city street. Lanes of traffic are shown busy with cars. Pedestrians are walking on the street; a woman in a red dress is eyes by two sailors walking in the middle and in the foreground a man picks a weed from the fenced grass. The street is bordered by buildings. In the background is Grand Central Station--a grey building with a clock at the top of the building above columns. On the lower right corner of the cover is the artist's signature. At the top of the cover is the title of the magazine, date, and a sample listing of articles contained in the magazine. The heavyset man leaning over the fence is Jack Smart, an actor and friend of Falter.
