Title Drawing; John Falter; Graphite
Object Name Drawing
Description Graphite drawing on white tracing paper. The graphite drawing is of a space ship with four aliens with one antenna pointing up from their heads standing in front of their craft. One is descending from their craft on a ramp. The tracing paper overlays a color lithograph. The color lithograph, "Trappers on the Prairie" by Currier and Ives, features two hunters in buckskin clothing hiding behind grey mules with rifles aimed at an approaching Native American party. Two saddled horses stand behind them. A third hunter rides toward a Native American, meeting him halfway between their two parties. In the distance on the right are ten Native Americans on horseback. The prairie has green grass with cacti in the lower right corner. Mountains rise in the background. The tracing paper overlays the lithograph to cover the Native Americans so it appears that the hunters are wary of the aliens. The image is framed with a black line and is bordered by white. Beneath the print is black text with the artist's names, manufacturer's names, copyright information, and the title printed in block letters. Printed on the back of the paper are four paragraphs discussing Currier & Ives prints with "Farm" in the title. The four paragraphs are in two columns with the title "The Farm" above and names of four prints below.
