Object Name Painting
Description Watercolor and graphite on grey paper. Painting of a man wearing a grey cap and grey coat leaning on a white railing. The man is drawn from the chest up with his hands folded and hanging over the side of the railing. To the upper right is a close-up detail of his hands holding a yellow pipe. "No pipe" is written next to the drawing. On the bottom of the painting is the title and artist's signature. The print is framed and under glass. On the back of the frame an offset lithograph of a Falter print is taped to the back. The prints is of a steamboat moving away on a brown river from a city on a hill. At the top left of the brown paper backing: "Study for St. Joe Gateway // #2".
