Postcard printed on white paper. The postcard advertises the film "THE BIRTH OF A NATION" on its back. The back features a Union and Confederate soldier shaking hands from opposite banks of a small stream and framed by the American flag. The Confederate is on the proper right and a circular portrait of Robert E. Lee is placed to his outside. An image of Ulysses S. Grant is placed in the corresponding location on the opposite side. At the top center of the image is a bald eagle grasping two olive branches. In the center is a red circle with "THE BIRTH OF A NATION" printed on the circle in blue. At the bottom "THE VETERANS OF '62 UNITED IN DEFENSE OF THE FLAG" take credit for the postcard.
Oriented at a 90 degree angle to the illustration, the postcard advertises the location of the screenings of the film, "Auditorium, Ainsworth Oct 11 & 12 Show Thursday at 8:15 p. m. Friday 2 shows 2:15 and 8:15.
The opposite side of the postcard has a white background, is labeled "POST CARD", and has a location for placing a stamp.
