Description Gravure on white paper. Print titled "Woodcock Shooting?" by J. F. Herring and adjusted by John Falter. The print is changed from the original version of "Woodcock Shooting" by J.F. Herring. The print depicts a hunting scene in a forest. A man on the right in a green shirt and a cowboy hat has been shot in the chest; his hat has flown off his head and he is standing limp. A man in a boat hat and yellow hat has fired his rifle a the man. His partner, in a boat hat and brown coat, is walking to the left. A man in a cowboy hat is hiding behind a tree, holding a pistol in the air. In the foreground two hunting dogs are prowling. Two birds are taking flight on the right. Beneath the print on the left: "Painted by F.F. Palmer, adjusted by John Falter" is engraved. The printing company is engraved beneath the right corner, and the title is engraved below the print on the middle. A plate mark frames the image. The print is signed on the lower left in graphite by John Falter.
