Title Clipping, Magazine; Cover; John Falter; Offset Lithograph; Child Life; December 1963
Object Name Clipping, Magazine
Description Magazine cover for Child Life. Color offset lithograph on white paper. Cover illustration by John Falter for Child Life magazine. Drawing of a red stocking with white text written on the body of the sock, save for the heel and toes which have green and black stripes. A grey mouse sits below the stocking next to the toe, which has a hole in it. Green Christmas tree leaves, holly with red berries, and one ornament hang behind the stocking. The text on the stocking is a story based off the "Night Before Christmas" about a mouse who does stir at night and the benefit the mouse gets from the hole in the sock. At the top of the sock is the title: "The Mouse That Dared // to Stir." Child Life is written in red letters in the upper left corner. The date is printed below. Falter's signature is green on the lower left. A note is written on the lower left of the paper in graphite. On the reverse side is an article about "Christmas Around the World" featuring an illustration of children playing, two columns of text, and a photograph of children playing.
