Description Color offset lithograph. Print of one of the 3M Company's Bicentennial paintings. Print of a painting which depicts two trains on a rail surrounded by a crowd. One man stands between the two trains. A crowd is gathered to watch the last tracks laid to complete transcontinental railroad at Promontory Point, Utah, in 1869. Scene includes figures of Chinese laborers, the U.S. Calvary, homesteaders, and a photographer. The telegraph operator, and photographer are in the central open space near the tracks. The scene is viewed from above the edge of the crowd. An American flag flies above the scene. Printed beneath the image is black text with the piece's title, and manufacturing credits. Printed beneath the lower left corner is John Falter's signature in graphite. "(C)1975 3M Company // Litho. in U.S.A. with 3M brand Photo Offset Plates, Film and Chemicals" is printed on the bottom-middle.
