A woman and a child are waiting in the wagon and another man is standing by the oxen. To the right is another covered wagon. In the middleground behind the broken wagon are two men on horseback and another covered wagon descending a hill on the right. On the left is a prairie dog town with trees standing behind. In the background are bluffs and hills. On the left is a wagon track with three wagons moving along it in the distance. Drawn over the illustration are blue grid lines. The illustration has red/orange shading. On the top left is the notation "1/2" with an arrow pointing to the edge.
