Title Moccasins; Leather; Beaded; Geometric
Object Name Moccasin
Description Women's moccasins made of leather with hard sole and decorated with glass beads. The ankles stand up straight. A separate elongated trapezoidal shaped cut tongue is attached with sinew. Leather thong laces wrap around the ankle through slits in the skin. The moccasins are decorated with glass beads in colors of white, green, dark blue, white heart red, greasy yellow and clear red. Three colorful stepped triangular outlines are placed on the top of each moccasin against a white background. The beads are attached with sinew in a lazy stitch.

History From the collection of Isaac Miller Raymond Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska. His son believed that the items in the collection were acquired in Nebraska. Isaac passed away in 1932 and the collection was donated to the Nebraska State Historical Society in 1964.
