History Token gift given to NSHS staff by Russia teacher who met with NSHS staff on November 21, 2002. The teachers were part of the International Visitor Program. The program brings visitors to the Unitted States from all over the world to meet and confer with their professional counterparts and to experience the U.S. firsthand. The visitors are selected by U.S. Officials overseas. The program began in 1961. The Department of State directs the program in cooperation with a wide range of non-profit organizations. In 2002 the Mayors Committee for International Friendship, operating out of the Mayor's office ran the program in Lincoln.
