Photographed is Lincoln's head and shoulders covered by a white red striped towel getting a shave from a man wearing a white jacket, tie, glasses, and a full beard. His sleeves are rolled up and he is shaving Lincoln with a straight edge razor. Written on the back of the photograph is "Close up of Lincoln being shaved in old St. Jo." in brown ink. Patterned on the back is "This Paper is Manufactured by Kodak". A pink Kodak manufacturing seal is printed on the back.
