Description Color offset lithograph on white paper. Print of the painting "East Meets West" by John Falter, one of the 3M Company's Bicentennial paintings. Print of a painting which depicts two trains on a rail surrounded by a crowd. One man stands between the two trains. A crowd is gathered to watch the last tracks laid to complete transcontinental railroad at Promontory Point, Utah, in 1869. Scene includes figures of Chinese laborers, the U.S. Calvary, homesteaders, and a photographer. The telegraph operator, and photographer are in the central open space near the tracks. The scene is viewed from above the edge of the crowd. An American flag flies above the scene. The print is signed in graphite beneath the lower left corner of the image. Printed beneath the image on the middle is the title and artist's name. Printed on the bottom middle edge is manufacturing information.
