Object Name Bag
Description Large beaded U shaped leather bag with drawstring, fringe and beadwork. The beaded motif is on the front and back. The design is floral and features a plant with a red beaded stem and 5 flowers. The beads included in the design are red square white, clear blue, pink, orange and green. The pattern on the reverse side is the same 5 flower design, but with different colored beads. The beads on the reverse side are a brownish gold, orange, green, white, dark blue, clear blue and white. The fringe is long and beaded in red, white and blue on thread that is knotted on each ends. Some of the beads on this bag look like clear beads that look like they were dyed or painted unsuccessfully and have now lost most of their color. The drawstring is a thin piece of leather with large clear, pink and blue beads tied to the ends. The inside of the bag is lined with white muslin at the top and then a purple and white cotton gingham in the rest of the bag. Bag is handsewn with cotton thread. Beadwork is attached with running stitch and cotton thread.
