History In Nebraska, McKeens could be seen on most Union Pacific branch lines, and during the 1930s, the U.P. operated a two-car McKeen train daily between Lincoln and Topeka, Kansas. The Rock Island Railroad also ran a McKeen on the branch line between Fairbury, Beatrice, and Horton, Kansas.
