The top is a blue rectangle with the words, "Your Vote & Support Appreciated" in white. The interior is a short biography of Thone in blue. One staple holds the matchbook together.

History Charles Thone was born in Hartington, Nebraska, January 4, 1924. He served as Deputy Secretary of State, 1950-1951; Assistant Attorney General, 1951-1952; Assistant United States District Attorney, Lincoln, 1952-1954; administrative assistant to United States Senator Roman L. Hruska, 1954-1959. Nebraska representative, United States Senator Dwight P. Griswold, 1951-1952; delegate-at-large, GOP presidential elector for Nebraska, 1952, 1956, 1960, and 1968; chairman, Nebraska delegation to 1972-1980 Republican National Convention. Elected to Supreme Court Judicial Nomination Commission, 1969 for a six-year term. Elected to the United States House of Representatives, November 3, 1970. Re-elected 1972, 1974, 1976. Elected as Governor 1978.
