Description Graphite on white paper. Preliminary drawing of "The Critics". Scene in a bar with patrons sitting at tables on the left and a bar on the right. Two men behind the bar are removing a painting of a reclined woman. The artist stands to the right of the bar holding his portfolio. To the left of the artist is the bartender, standing back and observing the removal of the painting. Lamps hang from the ceiling, rectangles hang on the walls, and a stove is in the corner of the bar. Notes are written over the drawing on design.
