Title Holster, Beaded; Cheyenne, Geometric
Object Name Holster
Description Gun (pistol) holster made of leather with fringe and decorative beadwork. Pieces of buckskin leather are sewn together to create the body of the holster. A small leather loop is stitched to the back of the holster, and a loop of cotton cord is looped through the loop. The opening of the holster is trimmed with brown and white silk brocade fabric. A band of geometric beadwork encircles the top of the bag. Multicolored diamond shapes extend from the band of beadwork. The bottom of the bag has long leather fringe, with a band of geometric beadwork at the base. The beads used on this holster are: light blue, dark blue, ye,llow, white heart red, green and yellow. The beads are attached to the leather using lazy stitch, thread and sinew.
