Description Printing proof on white cardboard. Proof of a book jacket for "Lonesome Traveler" by Weldon Hill (real name William R. Scott). The jacket features an illustration by John Falter. The illustration is of a male leading a white mule pulling a covered cart on the side of a highway in a red landscape. The male, a young man, is wearing a denim shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers, and is turned waving to a motorcyclist on a red bike behind him on the road. A dog on a rope leash is turned and facing the motorcyclist. The road is lined by electric poles. On the lower middle of the illustration the title of the book and a byline are printed in black and red ink. The publisher's name, logo, price, and book number are printed on the upper left. The spine has the publisher's logo, book title, author, and book number printed. The back cover has "On The Road" printed in red above a smaller version of the cover image. Below the illustration are two paragraphs of black text with a brief synopsis.
