Description Front cover of a book jacket for "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," by Mark Twain, illustrated by John Falter and published by the MacMillan Company. Color offset lithograph on white paper. Image featured on the front cover of a raft floating on a river at night under a cloud covered sky carrying two figures. The raft is pushed along by man standing with a pole at the back of the raft. Standing on the front of the raft is a boy in a hat, blue shirt, and jeans, resting his foot on a box. On the raft is a white tent. A lit lantern hangs off the front of the raft. A rope, boxes, and a jug are sitting on the raft. The river is banked by trees. The artist's signature is written on the lower left corner of the image in black. Above the illustration is the title of the book in black text: "The // Adventures // of Huckleberry Finn // by Mark Twain // illustrated by John Falter // with an afterward by Clifton Fadiman." A yellow rectangle on the upper right corner has a white circle with a black stamp with the text: "The MacMillan Classics" printed on it. The rest of the jacket has been roughly cut away.
