Object Name Poster
Description Cardboard backed color poster of the August 6, 1955 Saturday Evening Post Cover featuring the illustration Eighteenth Hole by John Falter. The illustration depicts six men in golf clothing--pants, shirts, hats, and shoes--on a putting green. Two men are crouched by the 18th hole staring at a white golf ball perched on the rim of the hole. Standing behind them are two men, one is marking the score card and the other is watching and holding a putter. Standing behind those two men on the left and right of the image are two male caddies; the man on the left is holding the 18th hole flag and a golf bag with two sets of clubs--with white covers and clubs with green covers, and the man on the right is holding a golf bag with two sets of clubs--with black covers and clubs with tan. The caddies are staring at each other. A sand trap is visible in the background. On the lower left corner is the artist's printed signature. At the top of the poster is the title of the magazine, date, price, and a listing of articles contained in the magazine. Two metal rings have been punched into the poster on the top left and top right corners.
