Kokjer, Malina (Hartwell)
Malina Hartwell married Hans Kokjer in 1883 in Clarks. Kokjer came from Denmark to America in 1874, and opened a blacksmith shop in Clarks in 1879. His sister, Ane Marie Hansen, a dressmaker in Denmark, made the wedding dress, corresponding by mail with measurements and ideas. The groom's brothers brought the dress to Nebraska for the wedding.
Hartwell and her parents were the first settlers in the Clarks area in 1865. They operated a ranch for stagecoach travelers
