People Haar, Ken, 1943-
History Ken Haar, a computer technology consultant and systems analyst , was elected to the Nebraska legislature in 2008. He represents District 21. The District covers parts of Lancaster and Saunders counties.

Haar previously served on the Lincoln City Council (1989-1997). He has served on boards, including the Lancaster County Board of Health, the Lincoln Mediation Center, and the Nebraska Sierra Club. For 15 years Haar worked as a teacher. He later formed his own company, Compliance at a Glance, Inc., which develops software for healthcare providers. Haar is also an inventor, who developed BearHooks® Wilderness Food Hangers for campers and backpackers.

Haar moved to Lincoln when he was 14 from a small farming community in South Dakota. He attended U.N.L. and received a B.S. in 1965 and an M.S. in Educational Administration in 1973.
