History Unadilla (Otoe County) native, Denver David Gray was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was stationed at Hickam Field, in Honolulu, and at Tinnian Island. He was the Supply Officer in charge of a supply area at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. His rank was then 2nd Lieutenant. He eventually became a Lieutenant Colonel. He received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree, and a Master's of Arts degree from the Univesity of Nebraska-Lincoln.
